Around our house, boredom can be a miserable experience. The girls start fighting and I get stressed. In the heat of the moment it’s hard to find new things to do to stave off the boredom blues. so, in light of that dilemma I decided to make a boredom buster jar. These are super easy and can be styled to fit any décor.
Supplies Needed:
- Small Mason jar
- spray paint
- chipboard letters: I’m bored
- popsicle sticks
- ribbon
Step 1: Spray paint the jar lid (you only need the outside part so you can keep it open at the top) the color of your choice. I chose hot pink because, well, let’s face it, you can’t go wrong with hot pink! Let dry while you finish the rest.
Step 2: Hot glue the letters onto the jar. Don’t just love them?! I found them on clearance.
Step 3: Write your ideas onto individual popsicle sticks. Here are some of mine:
read a book * play a game * color * play hide and go seek * color with chalk outside * make a little craft * run outside * go to park * dance party * tea party * paint outside * make a fort * watch a movie
Obviously, you can use whatever ideas are specific to your family. My girls LOVE coloring with chalk so it’s on there. And I’m sure I’ll think of more as they grow older.
Step 4: Finish the jar off with a little ribbon tied around the neck of the jar. Then get ready to have some fun!
