Now I’m sure you’re all dying to know how I’ve spent this summer. ;) Well don’t worry! I’m here to tell you all about it.
How I Spent My Summer Vacation
I spent a lot of time over at my friend’s house. We did lots of fun things together like make strawberry jam and pickles. But the main thing we did was redecorate her daughters’ room. We had so much fun! Though, I will tell you that this room is not for the faint of heart :).
Ready for the big reveal? I don’t have any before pictures, but I will tell you that the room was bright blue before we got ahold of it. Like you know the color of blue painter’s tape? Yep that blue.
And here’s what it looks like today:
Bright pink walls! Holy cow! I was a little nervous about painting them so bright but I ended up loving it! And what’s even more important is that the two girls who live in this room absolutely love it too.
The plan is to hang the mirror as well, but unfortunately we didn’t get to it. The hairbow holders were bought, but would be easy to replicate with wooden letters from a craft store. Paint them how you want and then attach some thick ribbon on the bottom.
We painted the furniture. Originally it was just the natural wood look. The picture was from Hobby Lobby. On the dresser on the left we painted the knobs and put little gems on them. Here they are:
So fun. And I’m sure you can see but we also got zebra print duct tape and covered the light switch covers:
It’s all about the little details. Ready for the final part of the room? It might be my favorite part. So when we started, the ceiling fan was hideous. I’m talking, the fan blade were all different bright colors and the base was another bright color. So we painted the base and part of the blades. Then we grabbed some zebra print duct tape sheets (have you seen those? They’re awesome!) and covered the rest of the blade with them. Here’s the final product:
I love it! I think it’s so fun.
So that’s it! What do you think? How did you spend your summer vacation?
